November 24

Quality time in the “studio” - I spent a few hours creating this year’s Christmas card. No advanced sneak peeks of the final version.

November 23

Thank You card - I made this card for my sister. I tried to copy the quilt she made for me (see November 6)

November 22

Dinner at Novo - We finally made it to Novo Latin Table. It was exceptional.  We shared enchiladas,  tacos carnitas and guacamole & chips . The Sinaloa Poloma was also excellent.  The restaurant is a little spendy, but so worth it. We will be back soon.

November 21

Fire? No, the sun peeking through the smoke stacks at International Paper.

November 20

Fair Warning - I found this graffiti on a rail car today. I promise I will stay out. I have no desire to climb into this, or any other, rail car.

November 19

A Glimpse of a Rainbow - It looks like colorful smoke at the base of the trees.

November 18

Modern Communication- Roger and I communicate in photos. This light in the kitchen needed to be replaced. I sent him the photo and he picked a new bulb on his way home.

November 17

I love this face - Wolfgang did not want his photo taken.

November 16

Party Prep - Kim is helping me get ready for the party. I was so busy having fun that I didn’t take any photos during the actual party.

November 15

Yeti In My Spaghetti - A great way to spend my birthday.

November 14

I almost forgot - This is what happens when I wait until the last minute to take a photo. I get another boring photo. I’m heading to Sacramento for the weekend to visit some friends. I hope my weekend is more interesting than my photo.

November 13

Portrait Lens - My sweet husband gave me an early birthday gift. This portrait lens allows additional light in and produces amazing pictures. I really like this close up of a George.

November 12

How long will it last? George destroys everything. This ball is no exception.

November 11

Soup Season begins - Butternut squash soup to be exact.

November 10

It’s the little things - Roger took me to one of his favorite fishing spots. I took a bunch of photos of the river and him, but on the way back, this leaf caught my eye. It reminds me of a water color painting.

November 9

Pedi Moment - Hannah treated me to a pedicure for my birthday.  I took this photo, because, Susie, the pedicurist could not stop laughing about the flower she made on my foot.  She didn’t speak very much English, but between giggles she told her co-worker that the flower looked like poop. Her laughter was contagious.

November 8

The Simpsons and Roger - We went out to dinner on Friday night in downtown Springfield. There is an art walk on the 2nd Friday each month.  We happened to walk by this studio that displays a life-sized Simpson’s display.  Springfield, Oregon claims the Simpsons.. I’m not sure why. I’ll have to do some research on that.

November 7

It’s Butternut Squash Soup Season - As the weather cools, my thoughts naturally turn to soup (Doesn’t everyone’s?).  I like all kinds of soup.  Butternut squash soup is one of my favorites. It’s also easy to make, which is another good reason to like it.

November 6

A very special gift - My sister made a quilt just for me. It is a work of art. She used fabrics by Tim Holtz, a favorite designer of mine. Her quilting is detailed, intricate and perfect. Such a personal and thoughtful gift.  Thank you, Nancy. I love it!
The first photo was not taken by me, but I wanted to show off the entire quilt.  The second photo is a close up of her label (My official photo of the day)

November 5

Pocket Constitution - I only bought one souvenir from my trip to Washington DC. Everyone should carry one of these.

November 4

Heading Home - It’s been a long, busy week. Nice to be winging my way home.

November 3

My Sophisticated Sons - Zac and Gillian are getting married next May. We took the opportunity of my being there to have the guys try on some tuxes. You look marvelous!

November 2

A full day of historic sites - I took a lot of photos today. I also walked 15 miles! The Lincoln Memorial at night is such an impressive site.

November 1

DC Bound - Since I was on the east coast, i added a little side trip to Washington DC to see Zac, Eli and Gillian. This is the concourse at Reagan National Airport. A really pretty building.

October 31

Another viewpoint - Every morning when we arrived to class, we were moved to another spot.  I liked this view the best.

October 30

Day 2  -  Brain overload. That is all.

October 29

Last minute photo of the day - It was such a busy day that I nearly missed taking a photo.  And I only took one shot out of my hotel room window. Some days are like that.

October 28

My home for the next few days - After a long day of travel (sprinting to catch my connection in Denver), It was nice to unpack and relax for a few minutes before the activities begin.

October 27

All packed up with somewhere to go - I’m leaving EARLY tomorrow morning for a leadership seminar in Atlanta. Looking forward to learning more about The Clorox Company.

October 26

Time is Money - I fill in as a money counter for football games now and then. Without these money counters, this process which already takes hours, would probably take 3 or 4 times as long.

October 25

Message Board - I have this message board in my office. I like to change out the quotes every so often. This quote is a long one. I got through the 4th line and was admiring my work, when I realized that, if I stopped at that point, the quote would have an entirely different, possibly more true meaning. Try it. Read just lines 1-4.

October 24

The sky on fire - I was on my way to meet Roger for dinner. The colors of the sunset were so vivid. I knew I had to try and capture them
. This picture through my car window is terrible and didn’t really capture what I saw, but on this day, it was the best I could do. Some days are like that.

October 23

Pain Scale - Back to the doctor to find our the results of my MRI. As I expected, there is some loose cartilage or bone fragments in my ankle. My option is to do nothing or have the surgeon go in and clean it out. As of right this minute, my pain level is really low, so I have decided to delay, at least until next summer.
