October 22

Leaf Blower - Roger is trying to keep up with leaf removal. It’s a tough battle, but he is well armed.

October 21

Retort - This is where the wood chips become char. I’ve taken his photo a few times. I call it my “safety” photo. I take it early in the morning each day. I figured I would use it, if I don’t take any other photos during the  day. Now I need to come up with another “safety” photo.

October 20

October 20 - About that car...The crew came to remove the it today. It took about 45 minutes to maneuver it in place and tow it out of there. Respect the curves.

October 19

Rollover - Sometime last night, someone drove over the edge of the road directly in front of our house. We didn’t hear anything, nor did we know about it, until we saw a group of people standing across the street looking down at the river today. The person driving the car is ok. Luckily a couple of large trees kept the car from going into the river. This is the fourth accident in the vicinity of our house since we moved in a little over four years ago. Our street is windy and narrow. Be careful out there.

October 18

Late Bloomer - I usually remove all of the plants from the deck by now. I was rewarded for my negligence, as I found this pretty little bloom tucked away in one of the pots.

October 17

MRI Day - Had an MRI on my bum ankle. I impressed myself with my ability to stay still for a half hour. I’m also impressed with how state-of-art and futuristic the machine is.

October 16

Illuminated Spider Web - The rain left behind some beads of water  on this spider web making it easier to avoid.

October 15

0 Dark 30 - A moon shot this morning. Those clouds are actually vapors coming off the retort at work. They appear in the photo, but not to the naked eye.

October 14

That feels good - Charlie likes rolling around on the lawn to scratch his back. I appreciate his efforts to shed, at least some of his hair, outside instead of inside.

October 13

Sophie - We had a visit from Sophie this weekend.  She is not supposed to be up on the couch like this and I think she know it. I do miss having her around, though.

October 12

Foggy morning - I took this photo through my kitchen window. One shot. Very cool.

October11

Ivy killers - Who said you can’t kill ivy? Well, George and Luka are doing their
very best to do just that.

October 10

Airpods - My Beats X ear buds have let me down for the last time. I decided to buy myself an early birthday present. I'm giving these Airpods a try.

October 9

Bad Ankles - I have had two surgeries on my left ankle. The last surgery was 16 years ago. My right ankle has the same condition (Osteochondral Defect of the Talas). Unfortunately, I am having more pain than usual, so off to the ortho doc I go.

October 8

On the street where I live - We live on this beautiful road. I love the curves, the greenery and the overhanging trees. The drive is scenic and serene resulting in a wave of calm and peace of mind.

October 7

Charlie The Elder - Charlie turned 14 in July. He takes a lot of naps these days. This is his favorite spot to take them. Do not disturb.

October 6

A labor of love - My dearest friend, Kimberly's, dog, Katie Jo, crossed the rainbow bridge last week. Her husband, Anthony, asked me if I would create a memorial photo collage for her. I finished it today. Katie Jo was a sweet dog. She meant so much to Kimberly and Anthony. It was an honor to create this for my friends.

October 5

Ducks vs. Cal - My friend, Deb and I attended the Ducks vs. Cal game today. The Ducks won, but they should have played better. We had a good time, despite the sloppy play. Check out the guy photo bombing us. He smiled for the photo.  Thanks guy.

October 4

Placido's - Roger and I tried a different restaurant tonight. Placido's is Italian food. The pasta was freshly made and delicious. It was in a weird location, though. The building was part of a larger warehouse right next to the railroad tracks. It's kind of tucked away, hard to see from the street. The strange location, however, didn't seem to have an effect on business. The place was very packed.

October 3

Fire Response Training - I attended a fire response training class at work today. We all took turns shooting the fire hose.  I am not a first responder. I am more like a last resort.

October 2

What's wrong with this picture. My new art studio has a few flaws (like me). When we installed the bead board, we had to cut holes to accommodate light switches, power plugs and heater vents. There are several instances where we cut the hole too big. Most of the other flaws are covered by furniture. Because this heater vent is so visible, I am tempted to see if I can figure out a way to cover that tiny opening at the top of it. After I stare at it for awhile, I say to myself, "It's just a shed. It's just a shed."

October 1

Meet Bad Granny - We attended a beverage show put on by a local distributor. It's where vendors show off their new products to buyers. (Roger is a buyer). Lucky me. I get to join him. There were so many ciders showcased this year. Bad Granny brand is one of them. I liked all their flavors, but I liked their logo the best. Maybe, because I identify as a Bad Granny myself.

September 30

Luka: Up close and personal - Similar to George, Luka likes to get in my face. However, unlike George, Luka is much more gentle and graceful about it.
