September 29

Nice rig - That's a nice rig you have there Mr. Toy.

September 28

Ocean View - I couldn't decide which picture to post so I'm cheating a little.
Photo 1 - R+S, because it's cute. Photo 2 - Afternoon Sun, because we considered ourselves so fortunate to have experienced such a beautiful day on the coast. Photo 3, because sunsets are my favorite.

September 27

Winchester Bay Weekend - We love going to Winchester Bay. This was our 4th trip this year. Roger likes to fish at Lake Marie. I joined him to take photos. This huge heron landed in a tree right above us. It gave me the opportunity to practice taking some shots with my telephoto lens. This was the best of them. I should use a tripod next time.

September 26

Getting serious about color - Up to this point in my life, I've always winged it with color. I will be taking an art journaling class online beginning in January, and a color wheel is a must, according to the instructor.

September 25

Laughter is the best medicine - I love laughing with these 3 ladies (Deb, Cynthia and Judi). I miss interacting with them daily. We meet for lunch periodically to catch up.

September 24

Fetch - This old baseball has seen better days. It was old, but intact when George got a hold of it. It now sits on the railing of our front porch,  but I can’t say why.

September 23

Said Treadmill - Here is the treadmill I posted about yesterday.  Roger said,”Are you going to use it?” I said, “Yes. I plan on it” He looks at me skeptically.  Challenge accepted.

September 22

Stormy Skies - We took a little trip up to Albany to buy a used treadmill that I found online. On our drive back, we were treated to some beautiful stormy skies. I took this shot with my cell phone through the window.  Amazing.

September 21

Roger is still a mystery to me. I came home the other day to find this canister of Pringle’s. I have never seen Roger eat a Pringle, let alone bring home a canister of them. He tells me that he loves Pringle’s and that they are a favorite of his. You think you know someone...

September 20

Play Nine - Our friends, Pam and Ken turned us on to this game. We play it often, but not strictly by the rules. Roger wins more often than not, which gives me opportunities to work on my sportsmanship.

September 19

Pub-Cycle - We got a last minute invitation to join some friends on a little pub-cycle tour. I was skeptical, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. Thanks Bill and Erica.

September 18

Very important delivery- What self-respecting 5th wheel owner would drive around with an electric recliner that doesn’t recline? Not the Toys. Our recliner controller shorted out. Replacement cost = ridiculous!

September 17

Go with what you know. I ordered a new chair for my studio. I searched for a while, then realized that the solution was right in front of me. Well, technically under me.  I really like the chair I have at work, so I found it on Amazon. The price was right, so here it is.

September 16

Between Storms - Roger rushed out to get some mowing in before the next storm.  Fall is here. I’ve been in denial, but I guess it’s time to put the outdoor furniture away. 😢

September 15

Family Fun Day - Our annual employee picnic was held at a pizza/mini golf place today. Unfortunately, it not only rained, it poured. The pizza parlor was fully booked and had no room to accommodate us inside. Attendance was low, of course, however, I was surprised at how many people did show up. It certainly was memorable.

September 14

Dog Crates - We converted one of the sheds into a craft shed in order to free up space for the puppies. They now have their own room. The puppies were crate trained previously, so we’re hoping the transition is a smooth one. By the way, we did get George a bigger crate. He looks a little uncomfortable here.

September 13

Friday the 13th - I ordered two books on mindfulness. The package showed up empty with a note indicating that the package was “received without contents”. I contacted Amazon and a new shipment is on its way. I guess I will have to wing it with mindfulness until then.

September 12

Work Gathering - I invited my co-workers over for an after work get-together. The weather cooperated. I nice evening with some really nice people.

September 11

Never Forget - Since that Tuesday morning in 2001, this day has taken on a new meaning. To me, it's a reminder that tomorrow is not guaranteed and that freedom is not free.

September 10

Rainbow - Beautiful rainbows are pretty common here in Oregon. I still get excited when I see one. I like to take a minute and admire them when I can. This one is especially pretty.

September 9

Hydro Flask - 32 oz. I’m trying to drink more water daily. Keeping track of my water intake in my journal has helped me keep up this healthy habit.

September 8

That’s What She Shed -  my newly completed art studio.

September 7

Move-in Day - We’ve been working on converting one of our sheds to an art studio. I’m starting to move my furniture in.  Roger had to work all day. I moved just about everything myself. I even tried to move this cabinet.  I was able to move it onto the deck. But after looking at it from all angles and asking myself, “What’s the worse that can happen?”, I was able to envision the worst that can happen and decided to wait for help.

September 6

Homemade Journal - I made this journal last year. My goal is to write in it everyday. So far, I have been documenting my water intake and my planks.  It’s not exactly what I had envisioned, but it’s a start.

September 5

Kingsford - I started working as an Administrative Manager at Kingsford in Springfield, OR last November. It has all the ingredients that go into making a great job including challenging work, nice compensation and, most importantly, an exemplary boss.

September 4

Early Morning Shot - It's dark now when I get up in the morning.  This is a shot of our porch in the early morning. I was taking the dogs out. At least it's not raining. That will come soon enough.

September 3

Big Head George. We have 4 dogs.  George is the youngest. He will be 2 years old in December. We still call him and Luka (our Pyrenees-Lab) puppies.  George has a big head and always gets up in everyone's business. Roger's most common question to George, "Are you a bad dog?"

September 2

Diversion Project - We are so fortunate to enjoy water rights to the the little river that runs through our property. We use the water to irrigate the yard. With the privilege comes some work.  Sometimes, the water where the pump sits, gets too low, so Roger has to dig some trenches to divert water to the pump, hence the "Diversion Project"

September 1

Tucker is a thief. This toy belongs to our friends' puppy. Tucker, our 9 year old yorkie, obviously, coveted it and decided to bury it in the yard. That was in mid-July. We knew he had taken it and buried it, because we saw him bury another toy, but just couldn't find this one. I happened to look down and saw it peeking out of the dirt beside our front door.

A Reboot

I completed a Photo-A-Day blog roughly 10 years ago.  I revisit that blog (Little Note To Self - see link to the right) from time to time and, since my life has changed so much in the last 10 years, I thought it would be nice to create a new one. Let the shenanigans begin...
